A family of instructors
Frédéric was born in Contamines-Montjoie, in the Mont Blanc massif, into a family of ski instructors. Skiing was everyday life long before it became a profession.

First turns at three
He started skiing at the age of three. Very early on, the mountains became familiar ground rather than a holiday backdrop.
Competition

Ten years teaching at the École militaire de haute montagne
He taught for ten years at the École militaire de haute montagne (EMHM) in Chamonix, the French military mountain school. This experience is part of his path, alongside his years teaching skiing in Courchevel and his off-piste skiing. His background also includes work as a bus driver.
Off-piste and ski touring
